Happy Tails is a Page devoted to showcasing the Special Bond between Hound and Human. Many of these stories are "Foster Failures". This happens when a Fostered Hound meets that special Human and refuses to leave. Others are stories from our many successful adoptions.

Here is an email we received from the Yoman's on Martha. The other dog in the photo is their hound, Paulie. Martha is the red & white.
Martha is doing great in our home and brought new life to our older basset hound they love each other and it is great to see them play. Martha enjoys the beach and dog park where she can run her legs off. The neighborhood kids come out to pet her and Paulie when we take her for walks and she loves the kids. At night she lays on my or my wifes lap for hours while we watch TV, she loves to be with us. You guys must have given her so much love when you had her and she must have been hard to give up for adoption. Terry and I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and thanks for bringing Martha into our Lives.
Here's one from Debby and Rick, Bella's new parents:
She is such a beautiful and sweet girl! After the first day of hearing "no", she adapted to our routine easily, kind of knows her boundaries, and began sleeping through the night after the second day (she puts herself to bed in her crate between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm!). My routine has been to wake up at 4:00 am every morning...... Bella and I have our special time- believe me, I can't do anything EXCEPT pay attention to her the first hour she is awake....she won't let me do anything else! So after she sneaks over by the Christmas tree and growls at Santa Claus....... it's quiet play time, rub her belly and her ears- until she thinks its time to eat! She "protects" the house.....barking at the squirrels and cranes and the little puff ball of a yorkie who lives next door! None of them can come in her yard without us knowing about it! Her play time is after dinner when she pulls all of her toys out of her crate and distributes them around the house. Then it's squeak-drop-run, squeak-drop-run, squeak-drop-run until she tires herself out and we have tears in our eyes from laughing! She has such personality!Rina, I'm so glad that you encouraged us to have patience in finding our dog and sent us the picture of Bella! Ewa- you were right, she is beautiful and deserves the name of Bella! We also think you were right in her age range....1 1/2 - 2 seems appropriate! Thank you all for arranging the "Puppy Express" across Florida and bringing this wonderful basset to our home! When I can figure out how to catch some pictures of her and download them, I'll send them your way! We hope that you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
